Before I was a tree II

Before I was a tree II is part of the collection of the same name. The work deals with the artist's gaze towards human rejections and more particularly vis-à-vis the industrialization of the tree.

It was in 2018 that François Xavier Laloi produced this piece with the intention of recreating a semblance of a tree from several wooden cleats. However, it is not a question of finding the tree itself but, more modestly, the image of the tree that once was.
